Slayblade’s full release date is August 20, 2026, when it launched on Steam for Windows PC. It is a standard paid release, not an Early Access title. A free demo was released earlier, on June 6, 2026.
The release timeline
- June 6, 2026 — free demo released (seen at Frosty Games Fest 2026)
- August 6, 2026 — official release-date trailer and a launch announcement
- August 20, 2026 — full release on Steam
One small note on dates: the launch announcement published in early August said the game “will launch on August 21st,” but the store page and launch day both show August 20, 2026. The in-game launch happened that day, so August 20 is the date to use.
The free demo
Slayblade has a separate free demo available on Steam. It covers roughly half the full game’s Blade Parts and unlocks and ends before the final battle, and progress carries over to the full game. The demo was rated positively — about 85% positive from a few hundred reviews at the time of collection.
The studio said the full release more than doubled the content of the demo and addressed player feedback. That is why the demo’s rating should not be mixed with the full game’s rating: the two are separate snapshots.
